What machine is used to turn stones into sand?
Vertical shaft impact crusher, also known as sand making machine, is the core equipment to crush stones into artificial sand. SHIBANG provides three standalone models including VSI, VSI5X and VSI6X, as well as the integrated VU tower-type sand making system. These machines work well with granite, river pebble, limestone and other raw stones to produce high-quality manufactured sand.

1. VSI Sand Making Machine
It is the classic basic model. It supports two crushing modes: stone-on-stone and stone-on-iron. Equipped with three-port rotor, it takes raw material up to 50mm in size with hourly output from 60 to 520 tons.
This machine is light in weight and easy to install. The hydraulic top cover makes daily inspection and repair simple. Wear parts are split-type and can be used in reverse to cut running costs. It fits small and medium production lines, delivering well-shaped sand with steady grain gradation.
2. VSI5X Sand Making Machine
This upgraded version optimizes crushing cavity and impeller structure, raising hourly capacity to 70-640 tons, ideal for large-scale continuous operation. Its assembled rotor allows separate replacement of worn parts, greatly cutting maintenance expense. It works perfectly for hard stones like river pebbles and granite.
3. VSI6X Sand Making Machine
As the latest top-tier model, it adopts four-port impeller for higher sand yield, with hourly output ranging from 100 to 583 tons. It features leak-proof sealing and built-in lifting parts for easy upkeep. It accepts raw stones within 50mm. Operators can adjust central feeding and cascade feeding to finish both sand production and grain shaping. Final sand is cubic shaped, with quality close to natural sand.
4. VU Tower-type Dry Sand Making System
This full-set eco-friendly system is built in closed tower layout, combining sand shaping, powder control and dust treatment in one unit. It handles material below 15mm with hourly output of 60 to 205 tons. The whole process runs in dry mode without water washing, so there is no sewage pollution. Finished sand has controllable powder content and stable grain distribution, widely used in concrete mixing plants, high-speed railway and other key construction projects.
