What machines are used for small sand and gravel production lines?

Small sand and gravel production line equipment is divided into three main types by crushing stages: jaw crushers, cone crushers (impact crushers) and sand making machines. The output capacity varies depending on specific machine models. If you have high requirements for finished sand quality, you can additionally equip sand washers and dust collectors to improve sand performance.

1. Primary Crushing: Jaw Crusher

The jaw crusher is a widely used primary crushing machine in mining and aggregate processing. It can handle feed materials up to 1280 mm in size, with a processing capacity ranging from 160 to 1510 tons per hour. Designed for large raw stones, it produces relatively coarse output with discharge size adjustable between 10 mm and 400 mm. For this reason, it normally works together with medium and fine crushing equipment. This machine delivers high efficiency, large output, good particle shape of finished products, small footprint, stable operation and eco-friendly performance.

2. Secondary Crushing: Cone Crusher & Impact Crusher

Cone crushers and impact crushers are the two typical choices for secondary crushing, and they apply to materials of different hardness levels.

The cone crusher is ideal for hard materials such as granite, basalt, river pebbles and iron ore. Its maximum feed size is 350 mm, and the discharge opening ranges from 6 mm to 38 mm. It features smart control, safe and stable operation, low operating cost, high efficiency and energy conservation, and is mostly adopted in large-scale sand and gravel plants.

The impact crusher suits softer materials including limestone, dolomite, coal gangue and construction waste. It accepts feed up to 700 mm, with a capacity of 70 to 400 tons per hour. It costs less for initial investment, produces well-shaped aggregates with adjustable particle sizes, and is easy to operate. It is a popular option for small and medium-sized production sites.

3. Fine Crushing: Sand Making Machine

The sand making machine serves as the key fine crushing unit in aggregate production. It takes raw materials no larger than 50 mm and produces finished sand from 0 mm to 5 mm, with a capacity of 100 to 583 tons per hour. This equipment also works as a particle reshaper. The final sand features few flaky particles and well-graded grain sizes. It is efficient, durable, energy-saving and environmentally friendly.
