What crusher is suitable for crushing granite?
Granite is usually processed through three crushing stages: primary, secondary and fine crushing. After crushing, the material goes to the grinding stage. This “more crushing, less grinding” approach greatly boosts overall productivity. Below is a full set of crushing equipment for bluestone and granite:
1. Primary crushing: Jaw Crusher
Jaw crushers are widely used for primary crushing of bluestone and granite. They can handle large rocks up to 120 cm in size and reduce them to below 20–30 cm. This machine features a large crushing ratio, strong wear resistance and low energy consumption.

2. Secondary crushing: Cone Crusher
Cone crushers are the top choice for medium-hard materials like granite and bluestone, and they are extremely popular in the industry. These machines are durable and come with smart control systems. They also deliver excellent particle shape and high output.
Cone crushers have a production capacity ranging from 45 to 2130 tons per hour. They can process stones smaller than 30 cm down to under 5 cm.
3. Fine crushing & sand making: Impact Sand Maker
Impact sand makers are ideal for fine crushing of bluestone and granite. They work on the “rock-on-rock” and “rock-on-iron” crushing principles. The machine takes up little space and is easy to operate for sand production.
It is fitted with modular impeller tips. Worn parts can be replaced individually, cutting operating costs by around 30%. Its hourly output ranges from 70 to 640 tons. It crushes materials below 5 cm into finished sand smaller than 5 mm with great grain quality. This equipment is now a standard sand making machine for aggregate and sand plants.
